2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid

At Montrose Ford Lincoln of Alliance, we want to help Alliance, Canton, and Hartville drivers find a midsize car that meets all their daily driving needs-with a heavy emphasis on efficiency and practicality. If those qualities describe what you're looking for, you may want to check out the 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid.

This Ford hybrid has some impressive performance specs, and we're here to extend an insider's look into that and other aspects in this car review. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!

2018 Fusion Hybrid: Performance Efficiency

So, what's the fuel economy for the 2018 Fusion Hybrid? You'll enjoy stopping at the pump less often with an EPA-estimated 43 city and 41 highway MPG. Boosting those numbers is an electronic continuously variable transmission, or eCVT, whose stepless transitioning provides even more efficiency.

The hybrid powertrain responsible for those numbers involves an electric motor and a 2.0L Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder, which can produce up to 188 horsepower and 129 lb-ft of torque. You'll have no problem getting around town, and there's enough power on hand for highway driving, too.

If you're interested, there's a plug-in hybrid version available as well: the 2018 Ford Fusion Energi. Check it out if you like, as it's capable of an EPA-estimated 104 city and 91 highway MPGe!

Interior Dimensions

The trunk of the 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid is a bit smaller than that of the gas-only Fusion (16 cubic feet) due to the battery pack for the hybrid powertrain being located there. With 12 cubic feet, you'll still have all sorts of space to store the things you need, such as sports gear and bags for your kids' next practice.

This car is spacious enough for even very tall drivers and passengers, with a max of 44.3 inches of legroom in the front row. Most adults will find the backseat comfortable as well, where 38.3 inches of legroom ensures plenty of space to stretch your legs and relax for the ride ahead.

Safety Features & Ratings

One of the most essential qualities for a family sedan is safety, and the 2018 Fusion Hybrid performs well on that front. Its passive safety features worked well enough in a series of crash tests to earn it an NHTSA 5-Star Overall Safety Rating, as well as top scores of Good in all five IIHS tests.

If you've ever struggled with keeping pace on the highway, you'll like the Fusion Hybrid's optional Adaptive Cruise Control. It lets you keep a preset distance from the vehicle in front of you by automatically adjusting your speed, so you don't have to.

Another feature you'll like on this Ford hybrid? Blind Spot Monitoring. If you a signal a lane change while a car's in your blind spot, this available system will alert you and help you avoid a side collision.
