2018 Lincoln MKZ Car Review
As you’ll see in this 2018 Lincoln MKZ car review, the MKZ has a lot to offer your drives around Alliance, Canton and Hartville. Whether you want to turn some heads as you roll up to the country club or you need a stylish ride to and from work every day, there’s something to appreciate about this sedan’s powerful engine, intuitive infotainment system and high-tech driver assist features.
Lincoln MKZ Powertrain
When you choose the MKZ, you have your pick of two engine options. The standard engine is a 2.0L turbocharged I-4 that generates 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. If you want to step it up, consider the available 3.0L twin turbocharged V6 engine that produces 350-400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque for a smooth acceleration and a kick of power.
This sedan comes standard with front-wheel drive, but intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD) is available to help you take on the brutal winters. This drivetrain system monitors your traction and driving conditions and autonomously adjusts torque between the front and back wheels for improved traction control.
Between all options, you’ll get an EPA-estimated combined fuel economy of 20-24 mpg.
MKZ Infotainment Experience
The infotainment system in the Lincoln MKZ creates a full infotainment experience. You may feel like you have a personal assistant with the available SYNC® 3 system that uses enhanced voice-activation technology to control calls, texting, music and available navigation. You can achieve complete smartphone integration with available Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, as well.
As you stream music off your phone or favorite apps, like Pandora®, turn up the volume with the available 20-speaker Revel Ultima® sound system featuring QuantumLogic® surround sound technology. It also uses available Clari-Fi™ Music Restoration Technology to decompress digital audio files in real-time, creating a clear and dynamic listening experience. The overall effect is feeling like you’re front and center at your favorite band’s concert.
Driver-Assist Features in the 2018 MKZ
While nothing can compare to remaining vigilant while behind the wheel, the Lincoln MKZ includes many features that help with much of the work involved with driving. For example, available Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go allows you to set a preferred speed and following distance. The system then adjusts your cruising speed as necessary when approaching a slower-moving vehicle, even in stop-and-go traffic.
Speaking of stopping, available Auto Hold gives your foot a break when sitting still. After coming to a complete stop, this system will keep you in place, even with your foot off the brake pedal. Auto Hold releases when you hit the accelerator.
When you’re ready to park it, allow Enhanced Active Park Assist to get to work. This system locates a perpendicular or parallel parking spot for you and automatically steers you safely into the space. All you have to do is shift, accelerate and brake. The MKZ does the rest.
